We are so excited about what God is doing among Latinos here in the Midwest! Our name HOLA (Hope Outreach and Leadership Alliance) Ministries describes what we do. We serve Latinos and Christian Latino church plants that are seeking help with evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. We also start Latino Bible studies that may become new Latino churches in the future.
We share the gospel, teach Bible studies and English classes, lead prayer groups, and train young leaders. We are committed to sharing and teaching God’s Word in creative and impactful ways. We also enjoy building relationships with Latinos by having dinner with them and by playing soccer and other sports with them. We are currently reaching Latinos from Mexico, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, and Colombia who live in the Midwest. Many of these Latinos are from some of the most unreached parts of Latin America.
God is doing great things among Latinos in the Midwest! Since we began working with Latinos in the Midwest in 2017, more than 100 of them have trusted in Jesus. All of the family members of several Latino families have received Jesus. We are seeing God change many lives for His glory. Praise God!
Before serving with Latinos in the Midwest, we served for about four years with SIM in Montevideo, Uruguay. God used us to help three struggling churches become healthy and growing churches that are thriving today. Our ministry in Uruguay also included teaching at a local seminary and speaking at CRU events.
God confirmed our call to ministry and missions when we went on three mission trips to Brazil. God used us to lead many young people to Christ and to train Brazilian leaders in evangelism.
Besides our Latino ministry, we seek to help American churches and individuals to reach people for Jesus. We share the gospel with as many Americans as we can, and we provide evangelism training as the Lord leads. I (Josh) am the author of an outreach book that is based on our evangelism experiences, our seminary degrees, and a lot of research. The book is The Life Changer: Finding Joy, Peace, and Your Purpose by Discovering Truth (2022, Covenant Books).
