Translation of Mark and Luke Partnership - November 2011
MIST Report for November 2011
Family
Everyone was healthy this month. John played his senior recital this week and did well. He has five classes to finish and we hope he will finish college either in the spring or summer. Eric played his last regular football game of the season today. They ended the years with six wins and three losses. Karen and Esther finished their last season of high school volleyball last week. They had a great season, and won their conference championship, but were defeated in the second round at the state playoffs. They have a concert coming up in a week with the youth symphony they are playing in and are looking forward to the concert. Our oldest son, Neil, is looking into going to graduate school to get a Masters degree in Trumpet Performance. Jeannette enjoyed not working in the flu department this fall after four years there. This fall was a lot more relaxed for her.
Karen and Esther are getting ready for auditions for college. They are going to major in music performance and have to audition for the schools they are applying to. They are also active in competitions this fall and other musical opportunities.
Work
I worked this month mainly on getting Mark ready for an exegetical check with Sarah. I now have up through chapter 6 and half of 7 ready to check. We finished the check of chapter 3 and are working on chapter 4 and are about a third of the way through it. Sarah is working on the first draft of chapter 4 of Galatians.
I worked more on the instructions for checking the dictionary for Dot and will finish that and send it off to the checker this month, if all goes well.
Plans
- Finish the check of chapter 4 and perhaps chapter 5
- Contact the translation team in the heartland working on Sarah’s language
- Finish the instruction on checking the dictionary for Dot
Praise
- Several personal projects were completed this month
- I have adjusted to the time change from the Africa trip and am sleeping more normally now
- For the musical talent God has given to all my children
Prayer
- For the translators working on the Luke Partnership Project (LPP) in Uganda that they can move ahead well on the translation
- That we will be able to set up a cooperation plan with the heartland team
- For an increase in our finances (Jeannette is working to make up the shortfall, but would like to be able to work more on the translation project)
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
Neil and Jeannette
