At The Starting Line Again

“For the Joy That Was Set Before Him…He Endured The Cross”

Dear Family and Friends:

Here we are…at the starting line again…another year before us. We live in a world of uncertainties…the only thing we can be sure of is that we can not be sure of anything.  The world political and economic crisis is sure to get worse … the western world continues to spend more than it produces. Meanwhile, China and its Asian neighbors keep producing and prospering acquiring foreign companies and properties throughout the world. The Islamic world continues to infiltrate every country and its ambition toward world-wide conquest is being realized.

We must look ahead as our Lord taught us…and see that the future for this world system is self-destruction…and we who are aliens here must expect that it will cost us to live the truth. For this reason Jesus said that we must take up our cross daily and follow Him. There is pain in saying no to self and no to the passions of this world and its ways.  Jesus endured the cross (condemned and executed) because he looked ahead…he saw the redemption of the human race being accomplished…and for that joy he suffered total earthly loss.  May we also look ahead beyond the pain to the pleasure of our destiny in Christ (Heb.2:1-2).

·    In Retrospect  2011

With God’s help we review the past year and thank him for the fruit that has come to us through some of the following efforts:

Continued gatherings of Central Coast Church Sunday bilingual outreach at the former Holiday Inn with the influx of many new families week by week... wonderful unity has developed among the team that plans this event and the people who come weekly

The in home community gatherings to get the gospel to friends and neighbors has resulted in many new contacts and new participants in the weekly fellowships

Establishment of people in the faith and new professions of faith have resulted among those who are being discipled in our community outreach endeavors

Continued outreach to families affected by drug addictions....numerous transformations are still in process

Ongoing development of a leadership team has seen great result ...many taking personal initiative in ministry to others...and working together to seek outreach and discipling goals

·    In Prospect  2012

We are grateful for the vision God can give us to see ahead and receive his light to our paths for 2012.  Here are some of the efforts we want to see continued in the coming year:

Continue to remain on course each week with the current plan of action using the Sunday public outreach and the grassroots community meetings in all types of locations to reach and disciple more sheep in the Santa Maria Valley. This goal will be reviewed quarterly to see that it is proving effective

Within the next six months attempt to reach a segment of English speaking people who would want to partner in this bilingual endeavor and be willing to become major supporters of the work...to help fund staff to spend more time in the field and less time tent making

By summertime launch at least two mission outpost gatherings...as additional outlets to reach and teach new followers

Within the 2nd six month period we would endeavor to begin a hospitality Sunday each month with special effort to invite all who are in our community neighborhood groups

By the end of the first quarter, launch an outreach drug recovery group meeting which will be endorsed by Santa Barbara court system through Judge Flores

·    Our Mission For 2012

So here we are at the starting line again…another race...another challenge...in competition for human souls…looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.  May he consume our focus…may we follow Him in detail.

Kingdom Blessings

to You All                                                                                                                                                  Steve Cornelius
