Bruce and Bonnie
Robinson
Bruce and Bonnie Robinson
have
ministered in England since 1971 . . . primarily in church planting. Their
similar English backgrounds, plus meeting in England in 1965 while on a student
missions' trip, led inevitably to their serving the Lord there. The Robinsons founded
Wolverton Evangelical Church. Today it is a strong, growing and vibrant
Christian fellowship. Buckingham Evangelical Church, which they founded
in 1990, is now influencing the community and is known as "the Bible
church". Its programs include ministering to students at the University
of Buckingham, which is comprised of 75% foreign nationals. It is
commonplace to have 5 to 10 different nationalities attending their Bible
studies and worship services. Many born-again students have returned to
their home countries and now work in key governmental positions or in
management of multinational corporations. The church has also made
inroads into local life, including working with a community
street-children's project.
In 1996 Bruce Robinson
founded International Gospel Outreach and continues to serve as its Field
Administrator. The Robinson's interest in other worldwide missions and
cultures is further stimulated and fulfilled while serving in their role
of advisor to fellow IGO missionaries. ACTSent is the name of
the Robinson's new ministry. It is not another mission board. ACTSent
is simply a personal label attempting to portray Bruce's and Bonnie's firm
belief in the biblical, simple, cultural approach to mission. The name,
ACTSent, intends to reflect and highlight the local church as the
platform and objective of mission. ACTSent's vision was
conceived to assist, consult,
train and serve indigenous
people of a new generation from their years of mission experience.

Dear Friend,
Is the year half over already? We’ve got a summer of anniversaries,
birthdays and long days - like ‘land of the midnight sun’ we have daylight
from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. - and visitors and hopes to make the grass look
like it’s supposed to and plans to tidy-up our small pond (can’t imagine
how 5 fish have survived) And we’re piecing together some essential
ministry opportunities. Read on . . . .
International Gospel Outreach As you know, we started IGO in 1996.
My uncle, David Robinson, has been the president for all these years and
put the mission on a sound legal, ethical and financial footing. We are
certainly indebted to him, especially as this allowed us to concentrate on
ministry here as well as on helping other IGO ministries in our capacity
of IGO’s Field Administrator. In September David Robinson will retire, and
I have been asked to work out a transition strategy for the mission’s
future. This includes interviewing board members and finding a new
president and an administrator to bring IGO forward. We want the mission
to grow and be more effective in the changing world. We also want IGO to
be as streamlined in it’s operation as it can be. This is a big task which
needs much wisdom. Bonnie and I will be in Minnesota for the annual board
meeting, and to help orient the new board, in September. Please pray
for wisdom in this task and for the right people for International Gospel
Outreach. The future prospects are bright.
Baby dedication Sunday, June 7, our grandson, Reuben, was dedicated
to the Lord in a simple and meaningful service at their church in Bedford.
It was indeed special to gather as a larger family at this momentous
occasion. Pictured on the right is 11 month Reuben with Beth and Rory at
their home. We had a picnic in their garden with Rory’s parents and a few
friends of theirs and Emma (pictured on the left with Reuben) after the
service. With all our international families, it is good to have one of
our children 30 miles away and have John and Cherry Parkinson as Christian
friends. Ben and Tanya are at a training course in the south of England
for a week this month and we had the privilege of taking care of Emma
(nearly age 8) for several days. Please pray along with us that all our
grandchildren will come to know the Lord at an early age.
