The Great Commission:
“All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”
(Matthew 28:18-20)
We believe
-
The
Bible to be the infallible Word of God, that it is His holy and inspired
Word, and that it is the only, supreme and final authority for life
-
In one
God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
-
That Jesus Christ was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, led a sinless life,
took on Himself all our sins, died and rose again, and is seated at the right
hand of God the Father as our mediator and advocate
-
That
Christ rose bodily from the dead, physically ascended into heaven and is
similarly coming soon to this earth
-
That
all men everywhere are alienated from God in their sinful nature, face the
judgment of God and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by
repentance from sin and faith in His shed blood on the cross
-
In
the responsibility of Christians, in general, and local churches, in
particular, to spread the Gospel and disciple a new generation of believers to
Christian maturity
-
In
using every ethical and legitimate means to communicate the Gospel of Jesus
Christ worldwide and apply it relative to specific cultures
-
In
holy Christian living, and that we must have concern for the hurts and social
needs of our fellowmen as well as the salvation of souls
-
We
must dedicate ourselves anew to the service of our Lord and to His authority
over our lives
